This short book is a memoir of wartime experiences by Marjorie Penn, who was a nurse in England during World War II, serving at the Royal Free Hospital in London, at hosptials in Plymouth and Bristol, and at "A Jewish home for the Bombed Out" in London. It documents the Blitz from the point of view of some of its most helpless victims.
Mrs. Penn wrote the book in 1997 and liked to share it with anyone on the internet who is interested. She made contact with a number of former colleagues who found this book online.
If you have additional questions, please send e-mail to me (her son) Richard Penn, at dpenn@acm.org or by ordinary mail at 189 Cathcart Street, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, K1N 5C1.
Marjorie died in March 2007, and will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is buried at St.Illogan church, in Cornwall
